Ransomware, a virus that encrypts your file on your computer and asks you money, attacked computers around 100 countries yesterday.

I am a victim of ransomware in last September and here is how I survived.

How to get rid of Ransomware?

Use anti-virus? Yes, only temporally helps. Windows refresh also helps but it also not permanent solution.

How to recover encrypted files?

Decryption tools may not help most of the time.
Best solution is remove ransomware first.
Use data recovery software to recover lost files.

How to prevent future attacks?

Move to Linux

Isn’t Linux tougher than Windows?

No. Latest distributions of Linux are much easier than Windows. Linux developers are trying to compete with Apple not with Windows.

Can I install software like latest versions of Photoshop, Ms office, VirtualDJ etc on Linux?

Yes, indeed.

Do I have to use command line to use Linux?

No, Those who use either Windows or Mac will feel at home at Linux.

Is there any other reason to move into Linux?
Yes here is a few
  • It is much safer than Windows.
  • No frustrating update install.
  • No firewall and anti-virus required
  • Hence less resources used, means less power used.
  • OS crash is very less compared to the Windows.

How to try Linux without installing on my computer?

Huge Garbage Dump Burns Still For The Last 15 Days And Spreads Toxic Fumes To Kilometers in Tripunithura

Tripunithura:  Huge waist dump has been burning still for the last 15 days and spreads toxic fumes around 4 kilometers.

The toxic fume causes breathing, difficulty, irritation in the eyes and insomnia.

An anonymous person sets fire the waist dump, which the Tripunithura municipality dumping for more than 2 decades.

Municipal authorities, fire force and police did not take a solid action to resolve it permanently.

I spoke to the home minister, Sri Ramesh Chennitha, over mobile and  offered me to talk to the municipal authorities.

People's protests caused municipality to offer to dump soil over the garbage to cut the oxygen supply, hence to stop the fire. But they have not done that so far.

I spoke to senior reporters in Mathrubhumi news channel and Manorama News channel a number of times. They did not turn up. And hence I am posting this video for the information of all.

The pollution still continues.
